The Religions of the world and their conflicting stand points

It reminds me of proverbial six blind men trying to describe an elephant from one's own perception. These blind men began scripting a discourse on the elephant that they groped and felt in their dark world. Its anybody's guess as what each one would write and claim to be his elephant. This perhaps, is the position of all the religions of the world. The Core issue is plurality and conflicting stand-points of Religions of the world. The purpose of narrating this parable is to understand the means of conflict among the religions of the world and deduce the underlying truth. There can not be plurality in the ways of Creation. As students of science we understand the creation of the Universe, the earth, the life on earth, evolution of Human race, evolution of Human intelligence in a logical frame work and there is no plurality in our understanding. The law of Gravitation is same for people of all the faiths; the anatomy of all Humans is the same irrespective of their faiths! So this brings us to the understanding that these religious conflicts and the bigotry thereof, are the products of plurality of inconsistent, subjective and primitive human thoughts imposed on innocent people of the world as profecies.

This impasse reminds me of KuVemPu's Viswamanava sandesha and his poem It inspires man to let his spirit/consciousness to break out of the narow confines of home, religion and country. I think the mankind of the world needs to move in to this broader and unifying mindset. ಈ ಹಾಡನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ....          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9Pqy6nz1OE

  1. We don't know if there's a God, but there are plenty of religions out there, each trying to prove a point of it's own, each claiming to take one closer to God. The worst thing about society - one that irritates me no end - is the narrow mindedness and holding on to culture and tradition and beliefs. Religion was born to help man, not to stop progress and fight. For God's sake, people should stop worrying about religion and just live a good life. I recently watched the movie "Oh My God", and at the end of the movie they summed up the state of current believers nicely: "These are God fearing people, not God loving people". If you think there is a God, don't fear Him and succumb to religion and mantras. It's sufficient if you love Him. This is the only way people can have a unified thought.
